September Update 1.36: Row your style

We’re fresh off the adrenaline rush of the World Rowing Championships in St. Catharines, and right back in time for the September update! Get ready to stand out as a revamped customization screen adds lots of new options, items, and filters. Absolute beginners now get better guidance with the Rowing Initiation plan and social rowers can now beat the Event Challenges.
The September Update will be released gradually over one week for all systems. As usual, the app will update automatically.
New
Enhanced customization interface, extra categories and items
Finding your own style in EXR just got easier. The new customization screen adds more categories together with filters to facilitate finding a cohesive look. Additionally, a bunch of new items with a broad color choice have been added
The extra categories include the following:
- Unisuit sleaves
- Item sets
- Item colors
These new items are now available:
- Shutter shades (level requirement: 9. Unlock for 650 X-Coins)
- Hearts suit (level requirement: 13. Unlock for 1000 X-Coins)
- Aviator sunglasses (level requirement: 17. Unlock for 600 X-Coins)
- Dangerous waters suit (level requirement: 23. Unlock for 2500 X-Coins)
- Hearts boat (level requirement: 22. Unlock for 1250 X-Coins)
- Dangerous waters suit (level requirement: 23. Unlock for 2500 X-Coins)
- Aqua boat (level requirement: 23. Unlock for 1250 X-Coins)
- Pontoon boat (level requirement: 25. Unlock for 2500 X-Coins)
- Dummy boat (level requirement: 27. Unlock for 3000 X-Coins)
- Peacemaker boat (level requirement: 32. Unlock for 2500 X-Coins)
- Under the sea boat (level requirement: 33. Unlock for 2500 X-Coins)
- Rubber boat (level requirement: 50. Unlock for 5000 X-Coins)

Even options for your avatar
Make your avatar truly look like yourself with an improved hair shader and extra options to edit your avatar's physique. Hairstyles are now always available for both male and female avatars and have different headwear options.
The extra options include the following:
- 3 new face types
- 11 extra hairstyles
- 2 more skin colors
- 2 additional hair colors
New absolute beginner training plan: Rowing Initiation
A concerned rower reached out to us that the current week-by-week workout plans may be too intense for absolute newbies on the rowing machine. That’s why we created the new Rowing Initiation plan covering 1 hour of guided rowing per week for 4 weeks. It is short enough to keep you motivated yet diverse enough to get you accustomed to the different aspects of indoor rowing like stroke rate and intensity.

Linked to the aforementioned Rowing Initiation plan, we added new single workouts to the Workout Collection.
These are the new workouts which are all of the lowest difficulty level:
- Kickstart Row
- Ramping Up
- Stroke Rate Starter
- Smooth Start
- Quick Recharge
2 extra monthly challenge categories
Beating the monthly challenges is fun and it gets even more exciting with the new categories Event Challenge and Challenger Challenge!
- Event Challenges: complete a certain number of online group rowing events in EXR.
- Challenger Challenges: crush a certain number of daily, weekly or monthly challenges.

Improved
- New passwords now need at least 1 number and 1 letter.
- When past sessions are manually triggered to sync if they had failed to do so before, they are now saved with their original session date, rather than the date of synchronization with the EXR server.
- Reworked the UI for custom targets in Just Row.
- Improved exit modal UI.
Fixed
- Fixed camera in Boston flying through a bridge.
- Fixed name cards in private races.
- Added localizations for the unknown password error message.
- Fixed localizations to match UI.
- Fixed a bug that caused an empty past sessions tab on certain iOS devices.
Earn your first event badge with the September Challenges
Completing events now earns you a badge! The new Event Challenges reward you for regularly joining online group rowing events. Find the next events in the app or on the EXR website.
