Celebrating the spooky season, the virtual waters of a particular route are lit by the Blood Moon! Find the Blood Moon to claim the Halloween badge, unlocking scary looks for your avatar. Let’s parade the new outfits together at the Halloween Group Row! A weather system now guarantees perfect rowing conditions even in October. Plus, a split screen feature has been added to EXR’s Android version.
New
Find the Blood Moon to unlock the Halloween badge & items
A Blood Moon is rising over one of EXR’s many routes. Download the October update and explore the virtual worlds to find the right route with the Blood Moon, unlocking your unique Halloween badge and items!
Here’s a list of all new Halloween items including their unlocking level and X-Coins:
- Jack-o’-latern (level requirement: none. Unlock for 4000 X-Coins)
- It’s Alive Hat (level requirement: none. Unlock for 1818 X-Coins)
- It’s Alive Suit (level requirement: none. Unlock for 1931 X-Coins)
Once you found the Blood Moon, you instantly unlock the Halloween badge and items for purchase. The Blood Moon weather and Halloween badge are only available in October 2024.
New weather system and umbrella hat
The weather outdoors may be gloomy but that doesn’t mean it needs to stay like that – at least in EXR! The new weather system now always starts sessions with good weather (sunshine or sunset). There’s the chance that it will turn cloudy or rainy for a while, but the skies will clear up again.
Luckily, the new umbrella hat prepares you for any weather:
- Umbrella hat (level requirement: 25. Unlock for 2250 X-Coins)
Split screen on Android
You now have the possibility of rowing with EXR while using a split screen on your Android devices. To use the split screen, open the EXR app, then open the overview screen and click on the three dots in the top-right corner. Next, select split screen. We recommend strong and modern hardware when wanting to use the splitscreen feature.
The split screen feature will be optimalized for the tablet of the RP3 Aqua.

- Improved power output on supported stroke rate-based rowing machines.
- Faster loading times when starting the app on devices with relatively weak hardware.
- Extra and improved menu animations for your avatar.
- Added heart rate data to Apple Health uploads.
- Improved UX in the profiles.
- Improved ambient sound and audience sound mixing.
Fixed
- Fixed finish arch suddenly disappearing when completing a workout.
- Fixed ghost boat animations not displaying correctly in Competition Mode.
- Fixed the orange Ying Yang suit color option only displaying white.
- Fixed male face types 1 & 3 displaying the same characteristics.
- Fixed Buoy Blast environment appearing white.
- Fixed achievements not being displayed in the customization screen.
- Added various smaller fixes.
