EXR’s August update sends you to the desert! Row 10 laps on Desert Eight this month to unlock the limited-time only Hawaii Suit, the perfect outfit for hot training days! Plus, a new Coldplain route has been added together with a reworked options menu.
The August update will be released gradually over one week for all operating systems. You can check for updates in the App Store/ Play Store or wait until the app updates automatically.
New
Summer Challenge 2025
The August update introduces the Summer Challenge 2025. To beat this extra challenge, you need to complete 10 laps in total on the Desert Eight route of EXR World this month. You can find a lap counter in the app’s Challenges tab. Sessions rowed this August before downloading the August update count towards the challenge. Join the Summer Challenge events to row a few laps with the community!
After completing your last lap, your reward unlocks: the 2 Hawaii Suits, which you can then purchase anytime (no level requirement). Plus, you will receive a special badge.
The Summer Challenge is limited to the month of August. If you don’t manage to beat the Summer Challenge this year, you’ll have to wait until next year to try again.
New route: Coldplain Loop
A new route has been added to EXR World. The 4.3 km long Coldplain Loop takes you from Lake EXR to the Polar Region and back.
New supported rowing machines: Tunturi and Christopeit
The Tunturi Fitrow 80i and the Christopeit WP 2000 rowing machines are now officially supported by EXR.
Get started with the Tunturi and Christopeit rowing machines by downloading EXR and connecting your model via Bluetooth. Explore all features, including the Summer Challenge, with the 14-day free trial.
Improved
- Improved the options menu, including restructuring the list of settings, visual improvements, added animations, and foldouts for advanced options.
- Added the option to disable bad weather effects.
- Added the possibility to open the user profile in the options menu.
Fixed
- Fixed texture issues of the pirate raft item.
- Fixed the Ice Breaker segment not being visible.
