Paced Group row: official release
After a month of beta events to test the new Paced Group Row format, they are officially released this month! Thanks to your feedback, we were able to apply final improvements and fixes. You can sign up for Paced Group Rows directly in the app or via the website’s event page.

Paced Group Rows feature a pacer with a rubber band effect, helping you stay with the group. The pacer’s speed varies with each event but generally stays on the slower side, making it easier for slower and less experienced rowers to join in.
If you row much slower or faster than the pacer, range assist turns off. Get close to the pacer’s speed and group to join it again. Please note that EXR’s visual distance may not match the meters rowed and you won’t be able to complete routes, lap-based events or segments in Paced Group Rows.
New neckwear customization category
You can now equip your avatar with neckwear. Find the neckwear tile as an outfit customization in your Rower Hub.
The new neckwear category features these new items:
- Velvet Choker (level requirement: 3. Unlock for 85 X-Coins)
- Chunky Chain (level requirement: 10. Unlock for 650 X-Coins)
- EXR Chain (level requirement: 18. Unlock for 2250 X-Coins)
- Cowboy Scarf (level requirement: 22. Unlock for 900 X-Coins)
- Secret medal (level requirement: none. Unlock requirement: top secret)
