EXR Invitational
This is your chance to win big! The first ever EXR Invitational is challenging you for the most important 5K indoor rowing race of your life! Qualify in one of EXR’s Qualifier Group Races from 23 October to 8 November to race for fantastic cash prizes on 7 December in Birmingham.
What is the EXR Invitational?
The EXR Invitational is a 5K race hosted by British Rowing and EXR. It brings the virtual indoor rowing community together to compete live at the British Rowing Indoor Championships.
How to race at the EXR Invitational:
- Log into your EXR account to sign up for the EXR Invitational Qualifier events on the EXR website or in the app.
- Complete at least 1 of the 6 events. You can compete as often as you like. Your best time will be ranked on the leaderboard.
- On 10 November, the top 50 rowers will receive an email informing them about their qualification.
- Confirm your participation at the EXR Invitational until 16 November.
- On 7 December, race at the EXR Invitational in Birmingham!
You can check your ranking at any time on the Qualifiers leaderboard, which displays the best times of all racers on the EXR website.
When are the qualifying races held?
The qualification races are held in EXR on the following dates:
- Thursday, 23 October at 9 AM (UTC)
- Saturday, 25 October at 11 AM (UTC)
- Tuesday, 28 October 12 AM/ midnight (UTC)
- Sunday, 2 November at 12 PM/ midday (UTC)
- Wednesday, 5 November at 8 PM (UTC)
- Saturday, 8 November at 10 PM (UTC)
Sign up for the events on the EXR website or directly in the app and save them to your calendar to not miss out!
By completing a Qualifier event, you unlock the EXR Invitational badge, no matter your ranking!
Please note that qualification for the EXR Invitational does not guarantee participation as all entries are subject to the approval of British Rowing and EXR, as well as compliance with all event rules and requirements
Who can participate at the EXR Invitational?
All adults (18+ years old) from free trial user to EXR subscriber are welcome to join the Qualifier Events and the EXR Invitational. It does not matter which rowing machine you use to qualify. At the EXR Invitational, Concept2 RowErgs are going to be used to race.
What can you win at the EXR Invitational?
All participants of the EXR Invitational in Birmingham are going to receive participation medals. The top 3 women and the top 3 men will receive the following cash prizes offered by EXR:
- Third place: £250
- Second place: £500
- First place: £1000
All costs and logistics, including visa, travel, transportation, accommodation, and food and beverage, are not covered by EXR or British Rowing.
What is the timetable of the EXR Invitational?
The EXR Invitational is going to take place in the afternoon of 7 December 2025 in Birmingham, UK. A detailed schedule will be added to this page soon.
How do I know if I qualified?
On 10 November, you will receive an email to inform you about your qualification. Please check your inbox and spam folder.
What if I qualify but cannot attend the EXR Invitational in Birmingham?
Please notify us if you are unable to attend the live event, so your spot can be offered to the next eligible participant.
