Connect your Merach rower
EXR is supported on the Merach R14 Waterrower, R28 WaterRower, Q3 Magnetic Rower, Q1S Magnetic Rower, R15 Magnetic Rower, NovaRow R50 AirRower and can only connect via Bluetooth.
How to connect your R14 WaterRower:
- Open EXR’s Device Connection screen.
- Pull the handle of your rower or press the Reset button on your rower's console or.
- Now back to EXR: Click on the Connect Rower button and select your rower from the list (MRK-R14-xxxx).
Did you stop rowing or push buttons on your console during your training? You might have lost your connection. Simply pull your rower's handle a few times to reconnect.
- Turn Bluetooth off and on again on your device.
- Wait a few seconds until Bluetooth is fully restarted.
- Click on EXR's Connect Rower button to connect.
Merach R14 Display Turns Off During Connection
The display turning off on the Merach R14 while connected to EXR is completely normal behaviour.
When the R14 connects to EXR on a larger external device such as a TV, laptop, tablet, or computer, the rowing machine’s built-in display may automatically switch off or dim during the Bluetooth connection. This is expected and does not affect your workout data or the connection quality.
The same behaviour also occurs when connecting with a smaller device such as a phone mounted on the rower, but in that situation the rower display is often physically covered by the device, making it less noticeable.
As long as EXR is receiving rowing data correctly, your Merach R14 is functioning normally.
Understanding Stroke-Rate-Based Rowing Machines
