Connect your Merach rower
EXR supports the following Merach rowing machines via Bluetooth connection: R14 WaterRower, R26 Double-scull Magnetic Rower, R28 WaterRower, Q3 Magnetic Rower, Q1S Magnetic Rower, R15 Magnetic Rower, NovaRow R50 AirRower .
All supported Merach rowing machines connect to EXR using Bluetooth only.
How to connect your Merach rowing machine
- Open EXR and go to the Device Connection screen.
- Wake up your rower by pulling the handle a few times.
- On some models, you can also press the Start or Reset button on the console.
- Click Connect Rower in EXR.
- Select your rowing machine from the list:
- MRK-R14-xxxx
- MRK-R26-xxxx
- MRK-R28-xxxx
- MRK-Q3-xxxx
- MRK-Q1S-xxxx
- MRK-R15-xxxx
- MRK-R11S-xxxx
Once connected, your rowing data should appear automatically in EXR.
Connection lost during rowing?
If you stop rowing or press buttons on the console during your workout, the Bluetooth connection may temporarily disconnect.
Simply pull the handle a few times to reconnect automatically.
EXR cannot find your rower
- Turn Bluetooth off and back on again on your device.
- Wait a few seconds until Bluetooth has restarted.
- Return to EXR and click Connect Rower again.
Merach R14 display turns off during connection
The display turning off on the Merach R14 WaterRower while connected to EXR is normal behaviour.
This can happen when connected to devices such as a TV, tablet, laptop, or computer and does not affect rowing data or connection quality.
Important information about stroke-rate-based Merach rowers
The following rowers use stroke-rate-based power calculations:
- R14 WaterRower
- R26 Double-scull Magnetic Rower
- R28 WaterRower
- Q3 Magnetic Rower
- Q1S Magnetic Rower
- R15 Magnetic Rower
Higher stroke rates automatically generate higher watt values on these models.
Because of this, some Training Modes may have limitations since EXR normally treats stroke rate and power as separate values.
The NovaRow R50 AirRower is not affected by this behaviour.
